Dombovar is a small town with around 20.000 inhabitants situated halfway between Pecs and Lake Balaton. It takes about a one-hour drive to reach Pecs or Lake Balaton by car.

Train connections from Dombovar are excellent, there are five Intercity trains to Pecs and Budapest every day whereby it takes less than two hours to arrive at the Budapest Delipalyaudvar station.

Although small, Dombovar is a regional centre having all facilities like a hospital, doctors, dentists, schools, banks, car dealers and a library etc. Kaposvar, which is only 30 kilometres away offers further, more extensive, shopping facilities like for example a Tesco shopping mall.

Special facilities in Dombovar are the thermal baths of Gunaras situated on the outskirts of the town. The facilities are open all year around.

The house itself is situated in a relatively quiet lane with chestnut trees on both sides. During the day there is moderate local traffic, in the evening and night reducing itself to almost none.

The house has been built around 1930 and has high ceilings (approximately 3.50 m) in all rooms. The house is in a good condition and most of the details are still original which generates a special atmosphere to live in. Heating is provided both by a gas system connected to the public gas network as well as by the old wood stove systems.

The house is very spacious (130m2) and has a great garden (1000m2); it also includes a connected storage building (32m2), two wooden garages (50m2) and a cellar (10m2). It is located in the centre of Dombovar on a 5 minutes walking distance to the main shops. The train station is a little bit further away; it takes about 20 minutes to walk there.

Unfortunately Dombovar offers few jobs for teachers and this is why we will have to move to Pecs soon, leaving the house. The price has been reduced from 55.000,-- Euro to 35.000,-- Euro, which is an extremely good value for money for a city house of this size and in this style and location.
